Introduction: 1986

Discontinued: 1992

Background: 1000's were meant to be an entry level line and as a successor of the 404 line which it shared a similar appearance but with larger hammer marks.
In addition, less hammering was used compared to the high end lines. They were offered in traditional and rude (un-lathed ) finish.
Also available as power models like in 2000 and 3000 Lines.
The ink was dark green, a bit darker than the 505 ink. The larger hammer marks are made to compress larger areas and results in less hammering cutting down on production costs.
This line found use in professional drum work with a sound similar to some of the professional lines especially the power and rude models. They found wide spread recognition being used by professionals as well as by students.
Mostly made in Germany .
