505
Introduction: 1978
Discontinued: 1986
Background: Evolution of the B8 Stambul.
German black label 404s and 505s got serial numbers. Swiss black label 404s and 505s did not.
Swiss 404 and 505s made in 1978 will have the ink stamping done in one line above the bell.
In 1979 they changed the stamping to look like the 2002 stamps with Paiste over 404 or 505.
The German black label stamping stayed the same from 1978-81. Paiste 404 or 505 in one line.
Early "black label" 505's ('78 to '80) were leftover restamped B8 Stambuls. 505's were not available in the U.S until ~1981, by then they had the printed "green stamp" logo.
