Review: These 2002 Rock cymbals have acquired mythical status. Featuring several hammer marks of a small peen, (The hammering is not deep on these hats, but marks often touch as they move closer to the bell.) These have a big, full sound, strong and punchy, with a bright pitch. They respond decently well to the stick, a little sluggish though, as to be expected for this weigh class. Playing them open increased the volume and wash. Using the foot pedal produced a "chick" that was only slightly less defined than using the stick.
One last thing, for awhile in the 1970s Paiste added "ROCK" to their Heavy Hi-Hat model. They are in no way related to this model. (Those heavy hats were lighter, and didn't feature this model's distinctive hammering.)
