Paiste Drums
Paiste drums: Born in 1998 from an idea shared between Jeff Ocheltree and Erik Paiste.
Spirit of 2002
The results of this collaboration were snare drums, timbales and drum sets, made of the 2002 Bronze (B8), called "The Spirit of 2002".
The drums were cast at Duluth Brass Manufacturing in Duluth, Minnesota. The cracked 2002 cymbals used in the test shells created problems in the casting process, with about a 75% failure rate. To fix this problem, CA 907 (90% copper / 10% tin) ingots were used for the shells, with a small amount of 2002 cymbals added into the formula.
The primary user of this series of drums was Carl Palmer.
S-Bronze
In addition, with the Initiative of Ed Clift and Danny Carey, Paiste created more snare drums and a drum set dedicated to Danny made from their PSA (Signature) alloy.
