Background: Having been a supplier to other companies, Meinl entered the cymbal market in 1984 with this, their first modern series.
Innovation: Hi-Tech is light, suitable for soft music styles. Rock Velvet is a little heavier, a good all-around cymbal for most music types. Volcanic Rock is the heaviest of the three weights, made for loud music, where volume and definition are a must.
