Company Description: Zildjian’s classic sound is embodied by A Zildjian and immortalized in countless recordings by the greatest drummers of all time. Known for their versatility, these bright cymbals range from thin and delicate to extra heavy and cutting.

Timeline: Refer to the excellent Avedis Zildjian By Years page for a very detailed overview of the series stamps, logos, and other changes. For quick reference from 1978 to Present, using terminology found herein:

  • 1960s ink

  • 1960s Stamp (Used from sometime in the 1960s until 1979)

  • "Hollow Logo" (no size or series stamped in this era) 1978 - 1982

  • "1980s Era" 1982 -1991

  • "1990s Era" -Avedis added to top ONLY - starting 1992

  • Serial Number Added - starting 1994

  • "Small cursive A" added next to model type - 1996 - 2013

  • "Large cursive A" - 2013 to present
