Just to try something different, I lightly tapped along the downward taper and got a really interesting "spacey" ride sound, with some exotic hints. I repeated this on the other side, and the result was more pronounced, and more enjoyable. <br>

Of course this would be most at home in a rock or metal environment, but if one needed a unique ride sound à la Zildjian's Swish Knocker, I think this would be suitable. While this lacks the rivets of that Zildjian, the design of the Novo Chinas make up for it with a slather of white noise.<br>

Review: One of those cymbals that make people ask "I wonder what that would sound like, if Paiste made it?". There is definitely a white-noise quality to the Novos mixed in with the trashy sound. Being a part of the RUDE series, and being so big, this is a LOUD one! Hitting it once will produce a long sustain, and rapid crashes will build up wall of sound.
