Review: "Even for the cute little 7" splash, the big hammer was brought out. Here, however, it only hints very delicately, but initially remains warm and soft in sound. A bit more intensity when striking then conjures up a nice hiss, with occasional larger strokes in the otherwise equally fine and diffuse hammering pattern. However, there wasn't even 2" of profile to work on, as the rest is formed by the hammered raw bell. At first, one might miss the typical splash sizzle; but the 7" HHX splash delivers it always unobtrusively and gently – an ideal partner for a rather bright-sounding splash and, with its quick response, always good for a subtle effect."
