Review: The 20" Velvet Rock Ride cymbal brings a clean "ping" when the stick hits, while the fundamental note is more in the midrange. Its dynamics have a large range, so that you can play the cymbal very finely as well as with power, without the individual serves becoming blurred. However, caution is advised with an extreme 'heavy' style of playing, as it no longer sounds so clear and distinct. Its bell sounds bright and precise and is pleasantly integrated into the overall sound. Thus, this 20" Ride develops its full sonority when used with medium-strong drumsticks at low to powerful (but not heavy) volumes.
