Review: "The S.R. 10 (the 10" pair) are more or less novelty cymbals. When recorded, the sound of these cymbals is clear, but not very full sounding. The 10" size is not big enough to produce a good "chick" sound. The one way I found these hi-hats to work, both live and in the studio, was mounted closed as a second pair of hi-hats. I got an interesting sound out of these hats by mounting them very loosely together; even though they were loose, the small size of the cymbals kept the sound tight. Since these cymbals are so small, they are very easy to position out of the way in a closed position."
