Review: "Those 'Splash'-type cymbals would still appear to be in demand, even though they ain't cheap by any stretch of the imagination. 'K' make an 8" and 10", both of which have a very clean and bright sound, albeit with a little more middle than an Avedis. I have seen many of these sort of cymbals destroyed by enthusiastic over-use. They are simply not made for whacking; very much an effect instrument."

Review written by Bob Henrit ("K Zildjian Cymbals - Cymbalcheck", International Musician & Recording World, February 1985)

Review: The 8" & 10" K Splashes spoke lightly with a warm "spisss" sound, and decayed quickly. The 8" was especially quick and had a slightly different splash than its bigger brother, very delicate sounding. While I like both very much, the 10" was the one I preferred, as the 8 inch was just a bit too "porcelain" sounding for my tastes.

Review: (NOTE: This review takes place after the entire series was re-designed in 2001)

"I couldn’t really hear the “K” character in the splashes—at least not in the non-brilliant models we tested. The 10" is a nice splash, but nothing out of the ordinary for Zildjian. It produced a consistent medium decay, with a bit of an upturn to the end of the tone. The 8" splash sounded like a top-flight A model to me, and was a good complement to the 10". Both cymbals were nice splashes, but they just didn’t have that “million-dollar sound.”"
