Review: "Owing to their sheer mass, the 19" cymbals took a good deal of effort to set in motion (more so with the Rock model than with the Medium)—but once they were set in motion, look out! These babies produced the best qualities of both a crash cymbal and a gong. No subtleties here; we're talking BIG cymbal sound."

Review written by Rick Van Horn "Product Close-Up - Zildjian Z Custom Cymbals" (Modern Drummer, Nov. 1994, p. 43)

Review: For my tastes, I liked the Medium Crashes in this series better than the Rocks. They have a nice weight to size ratio, exhibiting a warmth to their shimmer. The 17" was powerful, punchy, and played like a larger size would. The 19" was full-sounding, had a long sustain, and a nice bell sound. Do you know that song by The Beatles "Real Love"? To me this sounded like a crash that Ringo used in the song. (I'm sure it was not, but I digress.)
