Review: These Z Custom hats aren't heavy-as-an-anvil, like the other hats in the series, the Dyno Beat Hi-Hat. If you compare these to another pair, weight-wise, these are pretty much the same as A Zildjian 13" New Beat Hi-Hats. But what does differentiate these two different pairs is these Z Customs have Zildjian's proprietary computer hammering, while the A's do not.
Being small, these are articulate and quick. They have nice definition, with a solid "chick", played in the closed position or by foot. They can also get pretty funky with fast sticking patterns, which these can handle with ease.
Looking for a 2nd set of hats for your setup? These might be a good candidate for that.
