Review: "We found the 18" crash to be overpowering—in relation to the other cymbals. It was quite heavy and, consequently, quite "gongy." Yet, although it was loud, you couldn't call it "explosive" in a positive sense. It didn't crash out with an attractive shimmer and then decay gradually. Instead, it tended to blast out with a lot of clanging and then just sort of die out with the same tonality. Perhaps a thinner cymbal in the same line would exhibit more appealing characteristics, but this particular example did not measure up to the performance of the other Pro-11 models we surveyed."

Review written by Rick Van Horn and Rick Mattingly ("More New Cymbals", Modern Drummer, October 1987, p. 127)

Review: "Similarly the 18" Atlas Pro-2 Special crashes ($255.00) are real Earth-shakers. Recommended - if you can find them (Atlas is a smallish company and its cymbals are hard to find, for details write to Jim Atlas Sales.)"

Review written by John Burks and Robin Tolleson ("Cymbals - Things That go Whooooooosh In The Night", Drums and Drumming, Summer 1987, pg. 65)
