Review: These are probably the quintessential hi-hats. They are crisp, clean, and somehow good for just about any kind of playing and music styles that are thrown at them. They feature a medium-weight top cymbal over a heavy bottom cymbal, which makes these easy to respond, yet full-bodied, and (for me) the perfect pitch. If you ever are in a "rut" with your hats, do yourself a favor and give a set of these a try.

For some of the slower instrumentals, we like the effect of playing on the ride while simultaneously producing an off-beat pedal 'chick' on the hi-hat. For this we swap over to the pair of 14" New Beat hi-hats which applies a complementary level of volume while helping to smoothly cement the groove."
