'''Review:''' "When I struck the 16" Crash with no accompaniment (that is, no bass drum or snare), the sound seemed a bit flat. I thought the cymbal would give me a beefy, dark tone, and that the unlathed bell might add a bit of rawness. To my ears this was not so. The cymbal was just too light for my tastes. Review: "When I struck the 16" Crash with no accompaniment (that is, no bass drum or snare), the sound seemed a bit flat. I thought the cymbal would give me a beefy, dark tone, and that the unlathed bell might add a bit of rawness. To my ears this was not so. The cymbal was just too light for my tastes. The decay also left me unsatisfied. Perhaps a shiny Funky Rock Crash in a larger diameter would have given me the sound I was hoping for: brash with a beautiful decay.
If the manufacturer's intent was to make a rock cymbal, this one doesn't do the trick. I think they may have taken the name "funky" in the title a bit too literally. The cymbal is more applicable to the funk world or the studio than to the rigors of rock."
