Craig Lauritsen creates hand- hammered, lathed and tuned cymbal. Craig uses bronze sourced from a Turkish foundry and since 2019, B20 bronze sourced from Sabian. Craig produces various series of cymbals, including the Kontroversial, Old Stamp Clone (“OSC”) and Rustico series.

20" from a raw Zildjian blank 3030g to 2112g

The above 20" from a raw blank video gives a good series of sonic examples along the path of cymbal creation. It also shows how much weight is shed at different steps. Starting out at 3030g, then 2612g after being edged into a round disc, then around 2300g after the first lathing and finally finishing up at 2112g.
